Fringe! Presents: Trans Kids Deserve Better

Please arrive promptly as there will be no ads & trailers.

In a climate of rising threats for trans people, FRINGE! and Trans+ On Screen are partnering to
raise funds for the most vulnerable in the community, trans youth and create awareness on resources available to support them.

Preceding our feature, Sarah Hill’s the door is open is a joyful visual poem, serving as as a spell for the trans community – an act of care: a portal, a whisper, a protection spell woven in light and shadow.

What Will I Become? asks why people from the transmasculine community are particularly vulnerable to living briefly and dying quietly. Directors Lexie Bean and Logan Rozos explore the vulnerability of their transmasculine community. They delve into their own personal experiences, intertwining them with the stories of two young trans men who died by suicide. Homecoming king Blake Brockington and soft-spoken Kyler Prescott were poets, musicians and community advocates.

The event is organised in Partnership with Trans+ On Screen

CONTENT WARNING: frequent mention of suicide and self-harm
